New Age, Electronica : Peter Seiler - Sensitive Touch

Peter Seiler - Sensitive Touch

Peter Seiler - Sensitive Touch
New Age, Electronica | mp3 @ 256 kbps | 55:12 min.| 96 MB | 1987

Following the surprise success of »Flying Frames« in the USA 1987 saw the release of »Sensitive Touch«, the album that made Peter Seiler a star. If »Flying Frames« was about what Peter Seiler saw outside, »Sensitive Touch« is a journey into the inside. Emotions shaped into fascinating pop symphonies and energetic power instrumentals.

Peter Seiler’s music has been released on nine solo albums so far, selling more than 100.000 copies worldwide. Countless compilations have featured Peter Seiler tracks. His concerts (e.g. UK-Electronica, England) have caused rave reviews (Q-Magazine, England: " The German synthesizer wizard"). He has become a top seller in the "New Instrumental Music" genre.

Curtis MacDonald - Gold Coast
New Age | Mp3 @ VBR 192 | 100 mb | 1 CD | 2005 | RS + HF.com
Label ~ Eversound

Jump into life and take a ride with a really fresh collection of new Chill/Smooth Jazz from Curtis Macdonald. From the positive groove of the opener Open House followed by a hip turn of events with Traffic, I have to say Gold Coast is a CD that can always live in my IPOD. It continues with tune after tune of imaginative works by a composer known for his crafty radio friendly instrumentals. The soloing is as creative as the melodies, and after awhile you start singing along with the solo's! From the soulful neo-classical jazzy ballad Moonlight In Your Eyes to the bounce of Ocean Avenue, it's all good to go if your on the go or just taking in the day.

Curtis MacDonald - Home On The Horizon
New Age | Mp3 @ CBR 320 | 140 mb | 1 CD | 2006 | RS + HF.com
Label ~ Eversound

With so much music available these days, from Country, Post-Punk, Monotonous Repetitive Dance to Chatty Rap, here is a CD that is un-obtrusive and a pleasure to the ears. Melody is all over this intuitive stroll through the mind of a composer who knows what one wants to hear when they just want to unwind. Some of these tunes extract “trance” elements via the form as some are more of a “pop” song formula. Overall the tunes are quite catchy and I find myself humming along. I like the use of the piano, the synth arrangements, and the mood each song represents. “Eloquence Remembered” just about floored me (My mental imagery may be different from yours), and “Till There Was You” created such a feeling of longing, again great use of melody. I would strongly recommend “Home On The Horizon” to all whom like instrumental New Age with a beat as well as you contemporary Jazz fans out there. I notice he has other CD’s out and after hearing his discography, he defiantly has a signature style. The type when you hear it, you know it’s Curtis Macdonald.

New Age, Electronica : John Kerr - Norland

John Kerr - Norland

John Kerr - Norland
New Age, Electonica | mp3 @ 256 Kbps | 53:46 min. | 97.2 MB | 1992

John Kerr was born in England on September 16th, 1948. At the age of seven he began studying music. Pianoforte, church organ and later (when he was tall enough!) double-bass.
At the age of eighteen he decided however, to put his music to one side and concentrate on a career in Graphic Design and was accepted to study at Bath Academy of Art on a degree course. Having successfully completed his studies, he worked in London for various Advertising Agencies and Publishing Houses as a Graphic Designer.
He also lectured for five years at the famous Camberwell School of Art in London.

Since October 1978, he has been living in Amsterdam in The Netherlands. He bought his first synthesizer in 1980 and began composing music while still working - full-time - in the advertising world.

In 1992 he was confronted with the decision of either continuing his work in the frantic world of advertising or leaving it to concentrate on his music. This was because he was awarded three major music prizes in that same year: 'Best Artist', 'Best Compact Disc' and 'Best Composition' of 1992, in the Electronic Music Awards of the WDR Radio in Germany with his Compact Disc 'Norland'.

New Age, Electronica, Berlin School : Dom F. Scab - Ancient Tracks (Rare Tracks)

Dom F. Scab - Ancient Tracks (Rare Tracks)
Dom F. Scab - Ancient Tracks (Rare Tracks)
mp3 @ 192 Kbps | 51:50 min. | 2001 | 70.9 MB

"Ancient Tracks" is an album by Dom F. Scab that was released only through his official site in 2001 without any cover art. It was just available for a short period of time so now it is a rare and hard to find item.

The album features a collection of 10 unreleased rare tracks. The music is in the vein of retro Berlin School blended with melodic elements that is somehow reminiscent to the works of Tangerine Dream and Vangelis.

New Age, Electronica, Berlin School : Dom F. Scab & John Lakveet - Silent Mars

Dom F. Scab & John Lakveet - Silent Mars
Dom F. Scab & John Lakveet - Silent Mars
mp3 @ 192 Kbps| 44:30 min. | 2000 | 59.9 MB

Spanish synthesists John Lakveet and Dom F. Scab have collaborated together in the creation of "Silent Mars". This is an album that explores their common interests in the most cosmic sector of electronic music. The album also includes elements typical of the most symphonic side of the New Instrumental Music. By using powerful sequencers and a careful selection of synthesizers with which both artists feel identified (as for instance the legendary Yamaha CS-80) they have created a brilliant collection of pieces inspired on the exploration of planet Mars.

Each theme has its own personality, and awakens different emotions. One of the most melancholy pieces, which also invites the listener best to reflect on the important things of life, is "Twelve Wishes". In "The Aisle Moves" human stubborness and ingenuity to face difficulties and dangers so as to achieve the desired goal is remarkably portrayed. Energy and optimism can be perceived in such themes as "La Source Des Dieux" and "Tricks & Games of Mrs. Thumb". Mystery, the taste of adventure and the excitement of travelling towards the unknown are likewise the sensations that flow from the compositions in this album.

Definitely, "Silent Mars" is one of those works that prove that electronic music which can be labelled as Space Music can sound surprisingly warm and near to the listener, like a soundtrack for life.

New Age, Electronica, Berlin School : Dom F. Scab - Innerseed

Dom F. Scab - Innerseed
Dom F. Scab - Innerseed
mp3 @ 320 Kbps | 43:46 min. | 1998 | 81.3 MB

Spanish synthesist Dom F. Scab has quite a large discography and has established himself as an important figure in electronic music. He is taking the Berlin School of spacey sequencer-driven electronics in new directions. Never too abstract or experimental, his music is full of classic Teutonic sequencing blended with melodic elements.

"Innerseed" was the first solo work by the former At-Mooss member Dom F. Scab. Given his clear artistic maturity, it is surprising that we have had no chance to enjoy his music before. The artist drinks from Electronic Music classical sources, yet also from the most innovative trends. He takes care of everything, the composition and arrangements, as well as the instruments and the recording & mixing, clearly proving that we are dealing with an experienced musician with excellent skills, not only as a performer but also in the creative arena. His compositions are overflown with dynamism, symphonic grandeur, a shattering rhythm, and occasionally, also romanticism and passion. His style is a mixture of Space Sequencer Music and melodic symphonism. "Innerseed" is conceptually based on an amazing Science Fiction topic: a living machine. Through nine themes eminently melodic in nature in which Dom utilizes all sorts of synthesizers and sequencers, the listener feels trapped and attracted towards a sonic landscape that evokes impressive journeys and adventures.

The album opens with "Inner" and what a classic piece of EM this is. First thing I noticed was the superb sequential detail - a fast and complex lattice which forms the perfect backdrop to a superbly balanced rhythmic outing which, the more I hear, brings to mind a late 80’s Tangerine Dream at the very peak of their form. The stabbing vox are very characteristic of TD around that period, and it very much reminded me of the likes of "Mount Shasta" which for me is the stand out track from the otherwise forgettable "Lily On The Beach".

This album is certainly not a 'wall of sound' EM roller-coaster, veering more into laid back territory. However, it's strength lies in the subtle detail which is constantly present. The sequences are very carefully crafted, yet despite the obvious lengths to which the artist has gone to get these just right they are not used to 'showboat' and dominate the CD - rather the other elements of melody and texture are positioned with equal attention and imagination. Consequently the result is an impressively subtle collage of electronic sounds.

"Heart Of The Machine" continues the strong form. Subdued sequencing mutates subliminally as delicate motifs are picked out on piano and synths. "Fear To Void" opens on a classic chattering sequence, and the electronic patterns just keep on flowing for track after track to the superb "Saving Dreams". Opening with careful pads and suggested motifs the sequences emerge from the ether. The result is very reminiscent of early Wavestar, and when the guitars are introduced the picture is complete. The sequence voices are manipulated in classic fashion, and overall it is a magnificent piece. The album closes with "Seed", a short melodic rhythmic piece.

This CD is a whole surprise. Dom F. Scab deserves to be taken into account and paid attention to. Mention must be made of the participation in this album of Albert Gimenez (former member of Neuronium and Macromassa) playing E-guitar & E-bow.

Recommended.

Curtis MacDonald - Dreamliner
New Age | Mp3 @ CBR 320 | 155 mb | 1 CD | 2005 | RS + HF.com
Label ~ Eversound

Imagine you are taking a journey through rain soaked streets, coastal cruises with the wind in your hair and a chill in the air. The mood of Curtis Macdonald's Dreamliner inspires this scenario achieving it's sentiment as a soundtrack for great escapes and reflective romanticism. From the opening track to the final hypnotic and hyper-minimalist pulse of Hollyhock, this CD delivers what could quite be the next step in contemporary Chill/New-Age instrumentals. Swimming delays and textured synths surround humable melodies supported by acoustic piano. At many times just the groove transcends into the consciousness and creates the positive momentum we all like to take us through the day.
If you are looking for a CD with that creates an atmosphere of sophistication for an event or an intimate rondeviou, Dreamliner takes off and always lands in the right spot.
