As you knew, Bright, Quietmelodies' founder, is extremely busy now so that he can't spend more time posting new music. I think that's the reason why this place can't attract visitors any longer. Gambetis is still doing his job really well, but it's not enough without your help. Please share what you have here instead of just downloading and leaving.

Honestly, there is a problem about kinds of music that are allowed to be published here and it's totally my fault to approve them. I've just removed all such kinds of music and I hope that you don't mind it anymore. All posts now will be checked carefully and approved as soon as possible. Gambetis said: "We all have to be involved in keeping the quality of our place". So please stay with us as friends!

Hi there!  Thank you very much for finding your way here!  As many of you already know, this site is really a continuation of a blog that was originally hosted on Wordpress.  The blog grew to a point where there really needed to be some additional capabilities that Wordpress just couldn't provide.  This started the search for a better overall solution.  This site is the result of that search.  I really do hope that all of you come to think of this site as your home for good music, good company and a good environment. 

One of the neat things about this site is that each of you has the ability to post your own music here.  All that is necessary is for you to become a member.  Of course, membership is free and offers some of those capabilities that were mentioned earlier.  If we start to get more posters, not only will the site grow, but it will also become much more than just a site.  My ultimate goal for it is to become an active community where people with similar tastes in music can share their opinions, views & feelings about our kind of music.

In the coming weeks and months, additional capabilities will be added to help increase your experience here at QuietMelodies.  A couple to look forward to will be the new forum & a request page that can be edited and added to by the members.  Right now, the updates will be happening as fast as I possibly can.  This process can be sped up by everyone helping out in terms of making their own posts with music that was available on http://quietmusic.wordpress.com.  Of course, not only the music found there, but anything that can be considered New Age or it's subsidiaries will be most welcome here!

All in all, I've got a very good feeling about this site and the community that we will become.  Each of you have abilities and talents that make you unique, thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the chance and sharing yourself with us.

Hi everybody.

This is going to be a very short appearance.
Right now I'm just recovering from the earthquake (one of the greatest in human history) that have recently shocked my country that February, 27.

In my case I live in Santiago, the capital city of Chile located at the center of my long and narrow country were the earthquake had a strength of 8.0. I myself, my family and my relatives are all OK. Everything here is just beggining to get some normal. Some buildings and houses have collapsed. Communications like cell phones, Internet and cable TV are unstable.

Everything is worse at south were the earthquake had a strength of 9.0 and a tsunami had schocked some cities. Some of them have almost disappeared. The dead people count is 800 and growing up everyday.

I hope to be back posting again as soon as posible 'cause right now I have to help in the recovery and make things come to a normal state.

Hello everyone,

As many of you might have noticed, since coming back from being so sick, I've had a very hard time finding the time and energy to post. The reason that I'm posting this is to try and offer an explanation that I feel each of you deserves. You see, I feel incredibly guilty about not posting. Originally, when I started up the blog, there was no one to pick up the slack whenever I got too busy to post, but here there is. Mr. Neveralone and Gambetis have been true lifesavers when it comes to that.

The main reason why I'm having such a difficult time posting is due to the number of hours that I'm working. An average day is anywhere between 16 - 18 hours, and that leaves very little time for sleep, let alone anything else. Please don't get me wrong, this is not an excuse. I feel that I'm letting everyone down and not living up to the goals that were set before the launch of this site.

So please forgive me, and I cannot thank everyone enough for all the support that you've shown me in the past.

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to talk this opportunity to offer an explanation as to why I have not been around recently. I managed to come down with the H1N1 flu virus. And it really wiped me out. I've been struggling to keep up with my normal workload, and just have not had the energy or time to post here. The bad part is that the recovery process has taken much longer than expected. Just don't have much energy still. I am very sorry about all this, but do promise to start back posting on a regular basis from this point forward. A special thanks needs to go out to Gambetis and Mr. Neveralone for continuing to post while I was away, so please be sure to thank them =_).

As you know, the portal now is in a difficult time. We can't build it bigger as we expected just because we are too busy at this time. Bright, the admin, has been working 18-20 hour days for almost 2 weeks straight now, and it's really catching up to him. He said that hopefully he might come back someday next week. Thus, I hope that you're still patient and keep supporting us.

As many of you are aware, this past week has been very tough for me. I won't go into the details, but will leave it at this. A very large part of not only my daily life, but the lives of so many people, was suddenly taken from us a week ago. He was a true inspiration to everyone that had the privilege to know him.

I would like to thank each and every one of you who not only took the time to offer your condolences, but also to took the time to reflect on the just how precious life truly is. Each of us is uniquely gifted with the sweetest thing of all - LIFE. It's a shame that something as horrible as death had to be the thing to remind me of it.

My hope is that everyone who reads this will take a moment each day and cherish the life that is within each of us.

That's why its time has been so limited and the reason for its absence in the past few days.
He will be back active on Friday, after the funeral.

Hi Everyone,

I've had a couple of members ask about the possibility of adding a list of artists to the category tree. Basically the reason behind doing this would make for browsing the site much simpler. Especially if a surfer is looking for a specific artist. It would also help in terms of keeping things organized overall.

Please let me know what you think and any other suggestions you would like to see added to the site.
